We Bid All a Farewell
Arlington Forest United Methodist Church (AFUMC) is officially closing as a congregation on June 30, 2021. Church membership rolls and archives are being transferred to Clarendon United Methodist Church, and inquiries regarding membership can be made to the Clarendon UMC office. The church building will continue to be used as a place of worship and service, now housing the First Vietnamese American United Methodist Church [(703) 465-8505] and (temporarily) the Central United Methodist Church [(703) 527-8574].
As we end our ministry as a congregation, AFUMC leaves a living legacy in the countless persons we have nurtured in the Christian faith, including many seminarians and future pastors. Since World War II, we were a focal point in the community, with an extensive hunger ministry, a noted Scouting program, and many joyful celebrations such as the Pumpkin Patch. We are grateful for the congregations that will carry on this ministry, and we go forth individually to join with others in worship and service, sharing the Gospel story. We wish you blessings for your journey.
